An explainer video can answer the questions customers ask most, in under two minutes. AI voiceovers make these videos faster to produce and easier to update. This guide covers the basics.
Start with the script
Good explainers are short. Aim for one idea per video. Open with the problem your customer has, explain your solution in plain words, and end with one clear next step. Read the script aloud before generating audio. If it feels awkward to say, it will sound awkward in a voiceover too.
Choose the right voice
- Match the voice to your audience: warm and friendly, or calm and professional.
- Pick the right accent and language for the market, for example UK or American English.
- Keep the same voice across a series so your brand sounds consistent.
Make it sound natural
Add punctuation to control pauses, spell out numbers and brand names the way they should be pronounced, and break long sentences. Listen to the full recording with headphones and fix any mispronounced words before publishing.
Add visuals and captions
Use simple visuals that support the words: screens, icons, short clips or animated text. Always add captions, because many people watch with the sound off.
Review checklist
- Are all facts, prices and claims correct?
- Is the voice clear and free of odd pronunciation?
- Do captions match the audio?
- Does the video end with a clear action?
Keep it updatable
One benefit of AI voiceovers is that changing a line does not require a new recording session. Keep your script and project files organised so you can update prices, offers or features quickly.
